Dr. Kay Powell is a dedicated optometrist who is passionate about providing personalized care for her patients. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Dr. Powell graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated with honors.
Throughout her training, Dr. Powell gained valuable experience through internships that focused on pediatrics, vision development, and brain injury rehabilitation, allowing her to provide comprehensive care across a variety of patient needs. She was also actively involved in clubs, including the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the Sports Vision Club, as well as serving as the SCO volunteer coordinator for Remote Area Medical, an organization that brings medical, dental, and eye care to underserved communities.
Dr. Powell is committed to delivering thorough and compassionate vision care. She strives to empower her patients through education, ensuring they have a full understanding of their ocular health and how to maintain optimal vision throughout life.
In her free time, Dr. Powell enjoys playing the piano, training and traveling with the Arizona Sidewinders, a semi-pro Ultimate Frisbee team, and spending quality time with her husband, Chris, and their dog, Z-Bo.
